Allow me to introduce you to the HBIC of BLK|ALT!
Like many other Black folks, her name is often mispronounced. You say it like “bruh-shay”, but she's heard everything from “bra-kee” to “bray-chee”. Her personal rebrand in college gave birth to the nickname Bee (Beezus to a close friend and her ego). But you gotta work your way to that, so just remember it's Brache like bruschetta. 
Originally she planned to speak only to the girlies, but her experiences won't solely relate to girl/womanhood. In the long run, she wants this to be a resource for a range of Black folks. That's when she decided to adjust the tagline to "created by & for the creative black mind".
The beginning ticks of the BLK|ALT timeline start around the sophomore/junior year of college. She majored in creative writing and started using courses in document design and media literacy to begin building her "personal brand". 
She’s always been creative and documenting life on paper. She just didn’t realize how it was directing her destiny.
She made projects for fun and wrote her thoughts without purpose. She documented, reflected, and crafted, and here lie those roots.
While those roots were being planted, connections with other Black creatives were blooming. (The HBIC struggles to reach out though, so collaborations have been brief.) She started evolving her crafts, as well as the blog several times…
